My name is James McCall. I am an Air Cadet with 198 Hinckley Squadron and, last weekend I was given the opportunity to visit the Lake District for Adventure Training with a group of 7 other Air Cadets from 29F Squadron in Rugby.
We all had a brilliant time, staying on a campsite at Rydal Hall, near Ambleside in Cumbria . We went hiking and gorge walking, climbing trees, getting wet, exploring caves and jumping a river, repeatedly. I thought that, being the only one from another Squadron, it would be lonely and hard but, soon after arriving I found the other cadets easy to get on with and by the end of it we were all friends. The team spirit was fabulous!
We're all looking forward to going back there again if we can, and would all take other opportunities like this when they come up in future. Thanks to Rugby Squadron for giving me the opportunity to go with them, a very enjoyable weekend indeed.
